About Champagne

Flutes and coupes for bubbles and toasts. A champagne glass is the gift that turns a wedding into a memory, an engagement into a Yes, a brunch into a celebration. Glassique Cadeau champagne flutes and coupes are hand-blown from lead-free crystal in vintage Art Deco, modern, and gold-rimmed silhouettes. They arrive in our signature gift box – with French 75 and Bellini recipes printed on top.

Champagne glasses come in two shapes. The flute (tall, narrow) preserves carbonation – sommelier's choice for fine champagne. The coupe (shallow, wide, the historical 17th-century glass) gives a softer mouthfeel and dramatic look – the choice for weddings and brunch.

This collection covers every champagne shape. The Crystal Prosecco & Champagne Glasses bring elegant 7 oz flutes for toasts. The Gold Rimmed Champagne Glasses add wedding-photo finishing touches. The French Champagne Coupes channel 17th-century elegance. The Art Deco Champagne Coupes feature geometric 1920s cuts. The Vintage Roaring 20s' Champagne Coupes for vintage weddings. The Art Deco Iridescent Coupes for engagement parties. Pair with our coupe collection for the full cocktail-glassware bundle.

A champagne flute is a tall, narrow stemmed glass designed for sparkling wine. The slim shape preserves carbonation (less surface area = slower bubble loss) and concentrates aroma toward the rim. Champagne flutes are the standard glass for Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, Crémant, and sparkling cocktails like the Mimosa, Bellini, French 75, and Death in the Afternoon. Glassique Cadeau champagne flutes are hand-blown lead-free crystal with long stems and polished rims – gift-ready in our signature box.

Flutes and coupes both serve champagne – the right choice depends on the moment. The flute (tall, narrow) preserves carbonation longer and concentrates aroma upward, which is why sommeliers favour it for tasting fine champagne. The coupe (shallow, wide) is the historical choice (1700s–1950s) and gives a softer, more luxurious mouthfeel because the wider bowl releases bubbles faster. For a careful sparkling tasting, choose the flute. For a wedding toast, brunch mimosa, or any cocktail with foam, choose the coupe.

Always hold a champagne flute or coupe by the stem, not the bowl. The stem keeps your hand off the chilled wine, which prevents body heat from warming the drink and helps preserve carbonation. Cup your fingers around the stem with your thumb and index finger near the base of the bowl. For a toast, raise the glass slightly toward the eye line and make brief eye contact with the person you're toasting. Sip gently – champagne glasses aren't built for big pours.

Champagne flutes typically range from 5 oz to 8 oz. The 6–7 oz size is standard for serving a single glass of champagne (the conventional pour is about 4 oz, leaving headroom for the bubbles). Larger flutes (7–8 oz) work well for mimosas, Bellinis, and brunch cocktails. Glassique Cadeau champagne flutes are typically sized 6–7 oz – generous enough for a full pour with garnish, restrained enough to keep the bubbles concentrated.

For a wedding toast, choose between champagne flutes and coupes. Flutes are the modern wedding standard – elegant, photogenic, and they preserve the bubbles. Coupes (the saucer-shaped historical glass) are increasingly the trendy choice for vintage, garden, and Art Deco-themed weddings – they look beautiful in photographs and give the bride and groom a softer aesthetic. Either works. Glassique Cadeau offers both – hand-blown lead-free crystal in our signature gift box, ready to give the wedding couple a gift they'll use at every anniversary after.

Mimosa glasses are typically champagne flutes (6–8 oz) or champagne coupes (7–9 oz) – sized to hold half champagne, half orange juice with room for an orange-slice garnish. Larger 9 oz coupes or wider mimosa-specific glasses work well for brunch service where you want a generous pour. Glassique Cadeau offers both options: long-stemmed champagne flutes and wider coupettes. Either makes brunch feel like a celebration.

Functionally, they're the same glass. Prosecco glass usually refers to a slightly wider, slightly shorter version of the champagne flute, designed to release Prosecco's fruitier aroma more readily than the slimmer champagne-specific flute. Both serve Italian sparkling wine, French champagne, Spanish Cava, and sparkling cocktails. Some Italian producers recommend a tulip-shaped wine glass for very fine Prosecco DOCG, arguing the aroma needs more room. For everyday Prosecco and brunch mimosas, a standard champagne flute works perfectly.

Glassique Cadeau hand-blown lead-free crystal glasses are dishwasher safe on a gentle, low-temperature cycle – but hand washing is the safer long-term choice for keeping rims smooth and crystal clarity intact. Use warm water and a mild detergent, avoid extreme temperature changes (never put a frozen glass into a hot wash), and air-dry on a soft cloth. For sets with gold rims, painted detail, or hand-cut crystal – the Octagonal Gold-Rim Coupes and the Art Deco Speakeasy Lowballs in particular – hand wash only to preserve the finish.

Yes – lead-free crystal is the modern standard for premium glassware and is safe for everyday use with any beverage. Traditional lead crystal contained up to 32% lead oxide, which improved clarity and weight but could leach trace lead into spirits stored long-term in decanters. Lead-free crystal (sometimes called crystalline or potassium-zinc crystal) uses barium, zinc, or potassium oxides instead, delivering the same brilliance, weight, and ring without the safety concern. Every Glassique Cadeau glass is hand-blown from lead-free crystal and tested to comply with FDA and EU food-contact standards.

Yes – every Glassique Cadeau set ships in our signature gift box, ready to wow at unboxing. The box is structured, branded, and printed with the cocktail recipe for the glass inside (an Old Fashioned recipe with our lowballs, a French 75 with our coupes, a classic Martini with our martini glasses). No additional gift wrap needed. For weddings, housewarmings, engagements, anniversaries, and birthdays, every set is already presentation-ready straight out of the shipping carton.

Yes – Glassique Cadeau offers free standard shipping on every U.S. order over $89. Most sets ship the next business day from our warehouse, with delivery in 3-6 business days. Every shipment is packed with reinforced padding and tracked end-to-end, and any breakage in transit is replaced free of charge. Expedited shipping is available at checkout for time-sensitive gifts (weddings, milestone anniversaries, holiday deadlines).

Hand wash Glassique Cadeau crystal glasses in warm water with a mild detergent, then air-dry upside down on a soft cloth or stemware rack to prevent water spots. Avoid extreme temperature changes – never pour ice into a hot-from-the-dishwasher glass or hot liquid into a refrigerated one, since thermal shock can crack crystal. Store stemware upright (not on the rim) to protect the lip. For gold-rimmed, painted, or hand-cut sets, hand wash only. Lead-free crystal is durable, but it rewards gentle handling – every glass is hand-blown, so each one is unique.
